The internet is now the third most popular, well ahead of national and local print newspapers and radio. According to Pew Research Center deputy director Amy Mitchell, “American’s have become news grazers both on and offline.” 59% of all Americans use a combination of online and other sources to stay in the know. Mobile technologies such as cell phones account for 33% of this group. The news has taken on a more social feel to it with the rising popularity of social networking and blogging to discuss newsworthy events.
